"Upon this Rock the Spirit is Building"
PHASE V: With your help
After many significant accomplishments, and thanks to the loyal support and commitment of many, The Phoebe Needles Center has become the successful youth camp it is—and it is now poised to become the quality adult conference center it was envisioned to be.

The Phoebe Needles Center hopes to launch a capital funds campaign to complete the master plan for the Center. This includes the renovation of Phoebe Needles Hall (above), and construction of an adult lodge (below). |

WHILE IT IS THE CHILDREN who shape our future, it is adults who shape our world. Though many generations of children have experienced and benefited from Phoebe Needles’ vital and affordable offerings, many adult groups who want to come are being turned away, because our facilities are not suitable to their needs.
Currently, the historic Phoebe Needles Hall is the only “adult” lodging space the Center can offer. Last renovated in the 1960s, plumbing and electrical problems are frequent. Old hardwood floors creak when anyone walks down a hallway.
Tiny bedrooms are separated by accordian curtains, which allow visual privacy, but virtually no sound barrier. Dated bathrooms, located at the end of each hall, have one shower in them, and no privacy for dressing.
Our ability to serve our community in meaningful ways, and full realization of the vision for Phoebe Needles Center, is directly contingent upon the quality of the facilities we provide. But without a proper Adult Lodge, we are also verifiably turning away significant income. In 2008 alone, $70,000 in revenue was lost from adult groups that wanted to come, but could not work with our current facilities. (This figure does not take into account those who did not make an inquiry call.)
The construction of an Adult Lodge, and the renovation of Phoebe Needles Hall to better serve adult groups, would finally enable Phoebe Needles to uniquely serve groups of all sizes and ages, meeting the needs of our churches and community for conferences, business or spiritual retreats, celebrations, performances, weddings, classes, reunions, community meetings, seminars, family gatherings, and, of course, youth camps.A beautiful place where all can gather and renew, to better do their work in the world.
To realize this final stage of our vision, we must enlist the prayers and financial support of our entire community. We’ve come so far on our own—please join with us as we move boldly ahead.
