2012 Summer Camps

Nature CampNature Camp - July 22nd-28th - Rising 7th-12th Graders

This week will focus on many outdoor and environmental activities including learning how to identify trees, wildflowers, fungi, animal tracks, birds, reptiles, amphibians and more. We will hike at night, explore around ponds, learn about recycling and watch the sky light up with stars. We’ll also do arts and crafts, play games, swim, have a visit from the Roanoke Wildlife Rescue, visit the llama farm and more!

Outreach CampOutreach Camp - July 29th- August 4th - Rising 7th-12th Graders

Have you ever hammered a nail to build a deck? What about used a circular saw to cut a 2X4?
During this week we will divide into small groups to work with neighbors to remodel the houses of the elderly and those in need in our community. You will have a chance to try your hand at
basic carpentry, painting or landscaping. Imagine building a wheelchair ramp for someone in need, or replacing the porch on a house of someone who is not able to do the work themselves.
What about painting an entire house in a week? This service learning program is all about working together with people in the community to accomplish a task none of us could do by ourselves.

Art CampArt Camp - June 24th- June 30th - Rising 7th-12th Graders

The week will be filled with workshops in photography, drawing, pottery, drama, calligraphy, music, painting, and much more… All of this is in addition to games, swimming, worship, free time, movies, hikes in the woods and spending time with a great staff! Eat, play, create!
